What is it?

The Online LTC (License to Carry), or formerly known as CHL (Concealed Handgun License) class, is an ONLINE course accepted by the Texas Department of Public Safety to satisfy the classroom portion of an LTC class. Instead of spending your weekend in a crowded classroom and having to drive to your nearest certified instructor to sit through an in-person class, it can now be done online, from the comfort of your own home. Our class is 4 hours long, however we know that life happens and people are busy these days. The course is broken into several 15-20 minute long segments which can be taken all at once or one at a time. There is no need to clear your schedule for 4 consecutive hours! Upon completing the class, you will be able to download the certificate needed to apply for your LTC and, during the course, you will also learn how to apply for your License to Carry through DPS.

Do I still have to meet shooting qualifications?

Yes, even though the online course covers the classroom portion of the requirement set by DPS, you will still have to qualify with a certified instructors. There is no need to worry if you can’t make it to our location in West Texas, there are dozens of instructors all over the state who would be more than happy to help you satisfy the in-person shooting and range instruction portion of the requirement. How do I sign up?

I do not have a computer, can I still take the class?

Yes, you sure can! This class was designed to be compatible with mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets as well as laptops, or from your desktop computer.
